Córdoba, Argentina – 23 October 2024 – The OGs, formerly known as 3OGS, a leading game development company in Latin America, has officially inaugurated its new office in Córdoba, Argentina. The event also celebrated the unveiling of the company’s new brand identity, symbolizing its strategic shift toward global growth after being acquired by OV Entertainment, a UK-based cross-entertainment holding company.

The new office: a hub for global growth
Strategically located in the Complejo Capitalinas in Córdoba’s downtown, the new office provides a modern infrastructure designed to accommodate large-scale projects, attract global clients, and enhance operational efficiency. Córdoba is home to Argentina’s second-largest gaming ecosystem, just behind Buenos Aires, and The OGs is positioned to harness this regional strength as it scales globally.

“We are very excited; we always felt we were ready for something bigger, that we had the quality to achieve it,” says Mauricio Navajas, CEO of The OGs. “With OV Entertainment, we were sure we had the right strategic allies to pursue this growth. From our side, we have the consistency of our business; with the group, we receive the strength we needed,” says Mauricio, recognizing the success of the acquisition. “We didn’t want what we built to be taken away from us – our brand, our culture. We wanted to be empowered, and the group does that, above all, by sharing experience with us.”

The OG’s New office

With over 12 years of experience and more than 45 game development projects, The OGs specializes in the use of different programming languages (C++, C#, etc) and engines (Unity, Unreal, custom engine and others) achieving great quality in the service offered, which is accompanied by an internal QA area, technical production and direct customer support. The company has established itself as a trusted partner for global studios, and the new office further supports its goal of international expansion.

“We are making this move when we feel ready to take risks, but in a conscious way. Our trajectory and experience have prepared us for this,” assures Mauricio Navajas, CEO of The OGs.

The event saw the attendance of more than 40 guests, including employees, innovative ecosystem leaders, government officials, and key partners. The new space doubles the capacity of the previous office, offering the technical security and operational flexibility needed to tackle larger and more complex projects.

“Original Gangsters” ready for a new era

In tandem with the office opening, The OGs revealed its new brand identity. Rebranded from Three Ordinary Guys (3OGS), the name “The OGs,” standing for “The Original Gangsters,” reflects the company’s evolution while staying true to its roots. The new visual identity and logo communicate the company’s readiness to face the future while maintaining its unique character.

New logo preserves the chinchilLa with cybernetic elements

“We had the idea that the chinchilla, which has been part of our identity since the beginning, should remain. It’s an animal that represents versatility because it can resemble other creatures, and adaptability, as it protects itself from predators,” explains Pablo Navajas, Co-CEO of The OGs. The revamped mascot has gained cybernetic elements to correspond to the company’s new moment.

Founded by the Navajas brothers, The OGs has cultivated a close-knit, familial culture that fosters straightforward communication. This culture is reflected in the consistency of its processes and the high quality of its work. As the company scales to meet global demands, it remains committed to preserving this unique environment.

“We have always grown organically; the difference now is that we can do it faster,” Pablo Navajas emphasized.

Strategic partnerships and leadership at the helm

The acquisition of The OGs by OV Entertainment, a UK-based group known for its innovative strategy of unification and expansion across the gaming, film, TV, and advertising sectors, has accelerated the company’s transformation.

In attendance at the inauguration were key figures from OV Entertainment. Their presence underscored the importance of The OGs within OV Entertainment’s global strategy and its growing influence in the international gaming market.

“Being here and making sure we are part of this new chapter in their story is remarkable. We can’t express how proud we are of what they’re achieving,” celebrates Thiago de Freitas, Chief Executive Officer of OV Entertainment. “We have known Mauricio and Pablo for quite some time, and the way they love their team, how they treat them, the respect for everyone, and their desire to promote this culture is something we wanted to be part of,” he concludes.

OV Entertainment and government leadership attended the event

OV Entertainment recognizes Latin America as a hub of exceptional talent and creativity, which has been pivotal in its strategy for maintaining a competitive and innovative edge across the gaming and entertainment sectors. Kokku, another company within the group’s portfolio, operates studios in Brazil and Portugal. This integrated strategy provides The OGs with valuable access to new markets, strategic resources, and a global network of partners, enhancing its growth potential in the gaming and entertainment industries.

“They need to take their future into their own hands, and we are here to support and encourage them,” stated Oliver Kern, Chief Operating Officer of OV Entertainment. The COO emphasizes that the current dynamic won’t change: “They remain in charge.”

Government support and local innovation

The inauguration event was not only a milestone for The OGs, but also a key moment for fostering relationships with strategic government bodies and innovation agencies. Within the government structure, the Agencia Córdoba Cultura helped establish the regional Audiovisual Hub. Its president, Raul Sensica, sees this new phase for the company as an opportunity for public actions to amplify its growth: “We have a development plan aimed at enhancing the audiovisual ecosystem, including the gaming hub, where we discuss how public resources will be allocated,” he explains.

For the government leadership, talented professionals and legal certainty within the audiovisual ecosystem have made Córdoba a competitive destination for investors and new businesses in the sector.

The OGs' internationalization strategy is also supported by Agencia ProCórdoba, a government institution responsible for promoting the export of local products and services. “We have many support programs, not just economic but also institutional,” says coordinator Alejandra Nazar. “We start by listening to the demands and interests, as well as concerns in the sector, and from there, we can offer all the tools we have for internationalization. We want to be an ally, a part of this growth project. If companies grow, the entire local ecosystem grows,” concludes Nazar.
